4 tips to help manage time.

Do you always seem to be rushing to an appointment, or rushing to get the kids to practice, or rushing to rush? Fear not! There are strategies for you to help arrange your day to prevent racing, reduce stress, and provide time management.

Step 1
Set all of your clocks ahead 5, 10, or 15 minutes. This will allow you to have a few minutes of flexible time. Use the time “as is”; it’s easy to tell yourself, “Oh, I have five minutes extra.” For time mangement’s sake and your sanity, NO YOU DON’T!

Step 2
Get a daily planner to make a written (not a mental) time schedule. Visually seeing what your day will consist of will help you get a mind-set of the day. It will also help you determine what things can be eliminated or where things can be added.

Step 3
Schedule travel time or prep time into your daily planner. If you have an appointment at 2:00, don’t schedule another appointment from 1-2:00; unless, of course, you have super powers to zap yourself instantly from one place to another.

Step 4
Just learn to say “No”. Even though you’re a nice person and want to help others, sometimes squeezing one more thing into your day creates chaos and stress. You’ll still be a nice person even if you have to say “no”.
